About Justin Wilkin, M.D.

Dr. Wilkin is a skilled surgeon, specializing in cataract surgery. His surgical skills include state-of-the-art technology and procedures including certification for Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery on the Catalys laser. “One thing I love about my job,” Dr. Wilkin says, “is that I can improve a person’s vision dramatically with a 10 to 15 minute surgery. Patients are extremely appreciative at the improvement in their vision and quality of their life after surgery.”Dr. Wilkin says he discovered his passion for ophthalmology during his clinical studies in medical school, where he became fascinated by the complexity of the eye and its relationship to the overall health of the patient. “It is fascinating to discover and treat systemic medical issues such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease through looking into someone’s eyes.” He is – there’s no other way to describe it – positively giddy when discussing ongoing discoveries about the eye and developments in ophthalmological technology. “With all the really cool technology we have, it makes what I do so exciting,” he beams. “It’s very hands on and very technically challenging.”When he isn’t saving patients’ sight, Dr. Wilkin is active in his church and enjoys spending time with his wife and three young sons.
