Bryan Thiel, M.D. – Ophthalmologist

Dr. Thiel is a board-eligible comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract eye surgeon. Dr. Thiel specializes in traditional and laser cataract surgeries. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and attended Medical School at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando.  He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Omega Alpha, and the Wisconsin Ophthalmology Association.  Dr. Thiel expressed his biggest motivation, stating “As a surgeon, I am motivated by the new advancements in technology in ophthalmology. As an example, cataract surgery has evolved over the last several decades with new techniques developed and improvements in implanted artificial lenses. Barbara Smith, M.D., is a cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery specialist serving patients in our West Cobb office. He was awarded as a Melvin Jones Fellow by the Lions Club International for humanitarian services. Dr. Nicks is a primary care optometrist. As a highly qualified eye doctor, she has additional training in ocular disease and ocular surgery co-management. Dr. Nicks serves the Kennestone, Douglasville, and West Cobb offices. She has Advanced Competency in Medical Optometry (ACMO) Certification and received the Southern College of Optometry’s Above and Beyond Award.
