Senior Eye Care

The Marietta Eye Clinic provides ophthalmology and optometry services for seniors.

A richer, fuller life.
That’s our vision for seniors.

As we age, our eyesight diminishes. But, now more than ever, it doesn’t have to. Our eye doctors and surgeons specialize in vision-improvement surgeries and treatments for seniors. If you are age 50 or older, even if you aren’t experiencing vision problems, schedule a visit for a comprehensive dilated eye exam. This assessment can detect age-related eye diseases early before vision loss occurs.

When should I have a cataract evaluation?

If you are over age 55 and have been experiencing changes in your vision, it is advisable to have a cataract evaluation. During our evaluation, we will use state-of-the-art tests to check your:

  • Presence/severity of cataracts
  • Vision loss
  • Eye pressure
  • Pupil size, shape and reaction
  • Reaction to bright lights
  • Presence of other eye diseases

What do I need to know about age-related macular degeneration?

Macular degeneration is a retinal disease that occurs when the macula, the central area in the retina at the back of the eye, begins to gradually deteriorate, usually because of age. A partial or total loss of sharp central vision can occur. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of legal blindness among people over the age of 50 in the western world.

We offer a full spectrum of eye doctor services for children and adults at our nine locations: Kennestone (Marietta), Windy Hill, West Cobb, Canton, Towne Lake (Woodstock), East Cobb, Douglasville, Acworth, and Paulding (Hiram-Dallas area).
