Marietta Eye Clinic is pleased to welcome Abigail Kalish, M.D., to our team of fellowship-trained ophthalmologists. Dr. Kalish specializes in Cornea, Cataract, and Comprehensive Ophthalmology and is committed to delivering expert, patient-centered care. She will be seeing patients at our Acworth, Cartersville, and Kennestone (Marietta) locations.
Dr. Kalish completed a prestigious fellowship in Cornea, Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia, where she served as Chief Resident. During her training, she received multiple honors, including the Tuck Award presented by the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
A graduate of the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, Dr. Kalish was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Dean’s Clinical Honor Society, graduating in the top quintile with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Her academic achievements were recognized with the Alumni Association Descendent Scholarship and the Medical Scholars Program Research Scholarship.
Before medical school, Dr. Kalish earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating with highest honors. She was a Stamps Leadership Scholar, a President’s Scholar, and was named the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Most Outstanding Student.
Dr. Kalish’s research includes work in corneal diseases, refractive surgery outcomes, amblyopia, and women’s health, with publications in journals such as the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. She also has a strong dedication to service, volunteering in Peru with the CerviCusco Program, and locally with Hope for Augusta, Spark Academy, and the Boys & Girls Club of Augusta.
