We Are Here. We Are Open. We Will Take Great Care Of You!

Last Updated on 6/30/2020

Dear Patients of the Marietta Eye Clinic,

For over 50 years, hundreds of thousands of patients have entrusted one of their most precious gifts in life – their sight – to our eye doctors. From the routine eye exam to the most complex sight-saving eye surgery, our ophthalmologists and optometrists provide the most comprehensive and skillful care available in the Southeast.

We are dedicated to helping you SEE BEYOND 2020. We are thrilled to announce all of our locations are open as of Monday, May 11, and we are booking appointments for all types of care – primary eye care, optical products and services, specialty eye care (glaucoma, cataract, retina, and oculoplastics), and surgical eye care.

See all the details and hours of operation below.

Our COVID-19 task force, comprised of some of the most experienced medical doctors in Georgia, has constantly reviewed data and guidelines, and we have done everything deemed necessary to ensure the highest level of safety for our patients and staff. We are continuing to implement best-of-care protocols to provide access to life-changing eye care – so you can SEE BEYOND 2020 – and feel comfortable knowing we have hundreds of years of medical experience among our highly experienced team of medical doctors.

With Sincere Appreciation,

The Marietta Eye Clinic Board and CEO

A Note From Denise Johnson, M.D.
of Our COVID-19 Task Force

“We want you to know we are here. We are open. We will take great care of you! We at the Marietta Eye Clinic care for your health as well as the health of our staff. We are adhering to the guidelines set forth by the CDC as much as possible in a patient care setting to accommodate social distancing recommendations. Those who enter any of our facilities will be screened and have their temperatures checked. All staff members are required to wear face masks, and we are requiring all patients wear masks as well. Only patients will be allowed to enter our facilities with the exception of children, patients that cannot ambulate without assistance, and patients that require a translator. All surfaces will be cleaned frequently, and barriers are now in places where the staff and patient are in close proximity to each other.”

We Are All in This Together!

A Note From Dhanu Meleth, M.D.
of Our COVID-19 Task Force

“We here at the Marietta Eye Clinic care deeply about you and your safety. We are taking all the steps we can to make sure that your visit with us is safe and worry-free. We have taken the following steps to ensure your safety, our staff’s safety, and our providers’ safety in these challenging times.”

Infection Prevention Policies and Protocols

Step 1

We are making sure that all of our staff and our patients are temperature-screened and review coronavirus-related questionnaires before every workday and each appointment.

Step 2

We are requiring all of our staff and patients to wear face coverings for the workday and for each appointment. We believe this will significantly reduce the risk of transmission of coronavirus in all of the environments in our clinic.

Step 3

We are cleaning every surface that patients and staff encounter with solutions known to kill viruses after each appointment and in common areas several times per day.

Step 4

We have reduced the number of appointments we offer in order to minimize wait times and allow proper social distancing in all of our clinical areas.

Step 5

In our optical areas, we have made sure that every frame that is tried on by a patient is thoroughly cleaned before being put back on the display case.

Step 6

For the safety of our patients, we are asking all visitors to remain outside our clinic unless essential  (i.e., visitors accompanying children or those with special needs, wheelchair-bound patients, or dementia patients).

Step 7

We have placed markers in our clinic to ensure adequate social distancing among patients. We have removed many of our waiting room chairs in order to maintain social distancing. We have changed the parameters for our preoperative and postoperative discharge instructions in order to maintain social distancing for your safety.

Step 8

We have a committee comprised of both M.D.’s and administrative staff actively reviewing all current data from the CDC and the WHO, among other organizations. We plan to maintain the highest standards of safety and will adjust as needed as recommendations change.

Like all of you, we recognize that these are unprecedented times. We want to make sure that your time at the Marietta Eye Clinic is as stress-free and as safe as we can possibly make it. We care about you and the health of your eyes, and we are constantly working to make sure we do the best job we possibly can.

Step 9

Due to risk of increased transmission, we ask that you wear a face mask or covering that does not have vents or valves.
