About Amy Cherof, M.D.

Dr. Amy Cherof grew up in East Cobb, so joining the Marietta Eye Clinic in 2016 was a long-awaited homecoming. Dr. Cherof is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon who offers traditional and laser-assisted cataract surgery. She provides routine eye care as well as medical treatment for a variety of ocular conditions such as glaucoma, dry eye, pterygium, ocular allergies, chalazion, and diabetes. “My favorite part about being an ophthalmologist is seeing my patients’ excitement about their wonderful vision after cataract surgery,” she says. She first considered becoming a doctor while taking a high school anatomy class. She decided on her career path while on a medical mission trip during her time at the University of Georgia. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, where she found her calling in ophthalmology while performing glaucoma screenings in the community. When she’s not working, Dr. Cherof enjoys spending time with her two young children, husband, and dog. She loves getting outdoors, cooking, and exercising.

I love spending time with my family, including my husband, two children, and dog. I also enjoy getting outdoors, playing tennis, cooking, and taking Peloton classes. Traveling and snow skiing are also ways I love to spend my time.
