As we age, our skin changes, and over time, the natural volume of our skin begins to diminish. As a result, facial lines, folds and wrinkles occur. A decrease in facial volume can also occur.

Dermal fillers can minimize lines and wrinkles and add volume back to the face. We offer two types of dermal filler treatments in our Cosmetic Eye Center:

  • JUVÉDERM® XC: to fill and correct all lines, crow’s feet and wrinkles around the nose and mouth
  • JUVÉDERM Voluma® XC: to correct age-related volume loss in the cheeks

JUVÉDERM® XC

JUVÉDERM® XC is a smooth, injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin to help hydrate and add volume. When JUVÉDERM® is injected, it will instantly smooth the skin, providing a natural look and feel.

The JUVÉDERM® injection procedure takes about 30 minutes. Results appear immediately and last between 12-18 months. Once JUVÉDERM® is injected, an ice pack can be applied. It is important to follow post-care instructions by avoiding the sun or excessive heat exposure, strenuous exercise or alcohol for 24 hours.

JUVÉDERM Voluma® XC

JUVÉDERM Voluma® XC is the only dermal filler approved by the FDA to restore facial volume in three cheek areas: the hollow, the apex, and the apple. Also made of naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid, injections of this filler can restore a youthful plumpness to the cheeks. Results are instant and last up to 2 years.
