About Dr. Cohen

Cataract, cornea, and refractive surgeon Dr. Andre Cohen was determined to become a doctor after a physician gave his father a blunt and bleak prognosis. “I knew I wanted to be someone who could inspire hope in others,” Dr. Cohen recalls, “and to help people in a way that only a physician could. That experience with my father—who is doing quite well, by the way—taught me that the practice of medicine is so much more than knowledge and skill; being compassionate toward people is important, too.”One of Dr. Cohen’s favorite aspects of his job is building relationships with his patients. He enjoys the unique opportunity ophthalmology affords him to serve his patients for multiple needs throughout their lifetime.“I feel blessed because I love my work,” Dr. Cohen says. “I hope to see patients until the day I can’t operate anymore.”In addition to routinely performing sight-saving eye surgeries, Dr. Cohen became the president and managing partner of the Marietta Eye Clinic in 2020.In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, sports, politics, world events, meditation, philanthropy, and technology.
