Annual Spooktacular Chase in Powder Springs Raises Vital Non-Profit Funds

MARIETTA, GA October 16, 2018 – Marietta Eye Clinic, one of Georgia’s largest and most comprehensive eye care practices, is pleased to announce the practice sponsored the 10th Annual Spooktacular Chase in support of the non-profit Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia (VRS) in downtown Powder Springs.

Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia (VRS) is dedicated to assisting individuals who are blind or visually impaired so they may function independently in all of their environments. VRS provides practical tools and proven techniques to help clients carry out their daily activities. Assistance to clients comes in many forms including examinations by board-certified optometrists, counseling, and assistive technology.

The Spooktacular Chase is a Halloween themed, fun fundraiser set in historic downtown Powder Springs – a community the Marietta Eye Clinic has served for years. The fundraiser grew out of a need for additional funding after VRS revenue dropped in the recession which began in 2007. The race has shown to have legs and has been going strong for over a decade providing an exciting community gathering while also bringing in vital funds to support the mission of VRS.

“We were proud and honored to support the race and Vision Rehabilitation Services,” commented Sue Fitzpatrick, CEO of the Marietta Eye Clinic. “Our staff and doctors really got behind this event this year and we had a record turnout of employees who voluntarily gave time from their busy schedules on a lovely Fall Saturday to support this event because of the important work VRS does in Powder Springs and across Georgia.”
