Jordan Stanley, M.D. is Newest Addition to Team of Eye Doctors
MARIETTA, GA August 22, 2019 – The Marietta Eye Clinic, one of Georgia’s largest and most comprehensive eye care practices, is pleased to announce the addition of ophthalmologist Jordan Stanley, M.D. to the active ophthalmology staff. Dr. Stanley will provide comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma specialty care, and cataract surgery services.
Dr. Stanley is licensed by the State of Georgia to practice medicine and attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. Dr. Stanley completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Colorado.
“We are thrilled to have this very talented glaucoma specialist joining our medical team at the Marietta Eye Clinic,” commented President and Managing Partner Byron Long, M.D. “Glaucoma and cataracts both lead to blindness and serious degradation in a patient’s quality of life. With the aging of the World War II and the large Baby Boom generations, there is a growing need for surgeons and ophthalmology subspecialists to treat these serious conditions which affect millions of Americans.”
Dr. Stanley enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and competing in triathlons. His primary goal as an ophthalmologist is to be worthy of the trust patients place in their doctors. “I think of this responsibility in three parts,” commented Dr. Stanley. “Firstly, by always growing in my own medical knowledge and surgical technique. This involves ongoing, diligent review of the latest research on medical and surgical advancements as well as staying connected with my colleagues around the country. Secondly, in translating this care to each patient so they not only understand what conditions are impacting their vision, but also have an active voice in choosing a treatment plan which aligns with their unique visual needs. Finally, by ensuring each patient feels confident they are receiving care from someone who genuinely wants them to enjoy the highest quality of vision possible. I approach every patient with the question, ‘What would I do if this were myself or a member of my family?’”
Cobb County’s aging population and Metro Atlanta’s growing population present potential access to care challenges for people of all ages. The leaders of the Marietta Eye Clinic continue to add expert providers such as Dr. Stanley to meet the growing demand for sight-saving ophthalmology services, optometry services, and corrective lenses.
“Atlanta and North Georgia’s population continues to grow, and we are acutely aware of the growing need for high-quality ophthalmologists, skilled optometrists, and access to the latest technology in surgical care, glasses, and contacts,” commented Sue Fitzpatrick, CEO of the Marietta Eye Clinic. “We have continued to grow our provider base, service lines, and specialties for over 50 years to meet the needs of the greater Atlanta community. We are continuing to step up to the challenge of providing life-changing eye care to the communities we serve. This is an amazing time to be in healthcare, and we love impacting lives every single day.”
