Mark Dickinson, O.D.


We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Dickinson will be joining Marietta Eye Clinic. He will see patients at our East Cobb location on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting in September 2012.

Dr. Mark Dickinson is one of the few people in the Atlanta area who can say they are Georgia born and raised! He was born at Emory University, graduated from Griffin High School, and ultimately attended the University of Georgia, where he received his B.S. in biology. After working on a SCUBA boat, race car team, and as a cook, Dr. Dickinson then went on to graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Optometry. In 1984, Dr. Dickinson returned to his Georgia roots and has worked in private practice around the Marietta area ever since.
In addition to treating patients of all ages in a traditional office setting, Dr. Dickinson has also expanded his services to include geriatric care. Dr. Dickinson regularly spends time traveling throughout Georgia to provide much needed inpatient eye care to residents of skilled nursing facilities and sub-acute hospitals.  
Dr. Dickinson has numerous professional affiliations including his membership with the American Optometric Association, and the Southern Council of Optometrists. He also served as a Trustee for the Georgia Optometric Association and the President of the Metro Atlanta Optometric Association.
When not working, Dr. Dickinson enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, Kim, and their two children. Their 18 year old daughter, Logan, plans to attend the University of Virginia in the fall and Luke, their 15 year old son, is currently enjoying high school. Dr. Dickinson is also an avid runner. He regularly trains to compete in triathlons, and has completed two so far this year.  He has participated with Atlanta’s Peachtree Road Race with his college roommate for 37 years in a row- and he has the T-shirts to prove it!
